Mark Walsh CA, CRM – Old Dominion University - University Records Manager, Assistant Director for Records Management and IT Policy

Mark Walsh is a Certified Records Manager and Certified Archivist, who has worked in Ontario and Manitoba (Canada), Maryland and Virginia.  Before coming to Old Dominion University, Mark was the Corporate Records Manager for Norfolk Southern Corporation, and worked in Records Management at the Library of Virginia.  He recently chaired task groups that revised Implementing the Generally Accepted Recordkeeping Principles and Retention Management for Records and Information, two of ARMA International’s Technical Reports.

Mark chairs the Advocacy Committee for the Association of Government Archives and Records Administrators (NAGARA).

He is a recipient of the Exemplary Service Award (2015-16) from the Tidewater Chapter of ARMA International, and the J.J. Talman (2004) and Alexander Fraser (1990) Awards from the Archives Association of Ontario.

Mark holds a B.A. and M.A. in History, both from the University of Windsor.  He studied Archival Administration and Records Management on exchange at Wayne State University in Detroit.
